To be healthy means something different to every one, but it should combine the body, the mind and the soul.
Have you ever wondered what healthy people do everyday to stay healthy?
Being healthy is not as hard as you may think. Here are 6 easy things healthy people do everyday and you can too:
- Drink a glass of water first thing in the morning. We are told our bodies need 8-10 glasses of water everyday to stay hydrated. Healthy people start their day with water before anything else is done.
- Think of one thing you are thankful for. This one should be easy as it is only one thing. It might be your health that you are grateful and all you need to do is acknowledge it in your mind. When you try this, the natural reaction is to smile and that releases happy endorphins throughout the body.
- Spend some time outside in the fresh air. It is amazing the difference a healthy body, mind and soul can be when you step outside into the natural air, away from heating /air conditioning / lighting.
- Breakfast in the most important meal of the day, so make it count. With so many delicious options available now, many of these in convenient packaging if you are time poor, there is no excuse for skipping breakfast. Be creative here too and don’t always stick to the traditional breakfast of cereal or toast.
- Switch of for 1 hour a day – and that means everything. No emails, no phone, no iPad, no computers and no television. Spend that hour with yourself and a good book or by reading the newspaper or listening to music or going for a walk. Will the world really miss you that much in 1 hour?
- Move your body everyday. Exercising shouldn’t be a chore and something to dread doing. Moving your body should be a natural part of your day just like feeding your body. Go for a run. Take the dog for a walk. Take the kids down to the park and actually join in. Catch up with a friend and take a stroll down the beach. The options are endless and all you need is at least 20-30 minutes everyday.
