Last week I was very excited when a tweet came through from one of my favourite bloggers Amy @ Handbag Mafia that She had nominated me for the Liebster Blog Award. I didn’t know what the hell that meant and I didn’t actually care. I was being NOMINATED for something. Woohoo. Excitement City.
Now that I have calmed down and I looked into this award, I know what it is all about.
Basically the Liebster Blog Award is recognition by bloggers for bloggers work. If you are not a blogger then you are probably yawning your head off about now and ready to click away from this post. STOP that CLICK. The boring part for you guys is over. As part of this recognition, I need to answer questions about myself you may not know. Here goes:
1. What makes you happy?
I am not sure if I am allowed to write wine first so I won’t. Lots of things make me happy but my kids (not all of the time) make me feel I have been blessed with a wonderful life. My husband has grown in the same direction as me so we are very lucky as I know many couples who grow apart over the years. I love to write, love to read, love to share a drink with friends and love to spend time with my girls on Sex and the city.
2. Why did you start blogging?
I write with one of my teenage daughters and we initially started to develop our skills in writing. I have always loved writing and love the fact Ash does too. This si something we share together and I am lucky she loves it even so than I do.
3. What is the best thing anyone has ever said about your blog?
I don’t get many people saying the blog is good. I get comments on posts which make me feel good. One post we wrote was when I vented my anger at a shop owner who hit one of her employees and the girl came to distraught. A few days later, I received a message from her best friend who happened to read my post saying thank you and telling how her friend was going.
4. What are your top 3 bucket list items?
I actually hate these questions because I feel stupid as I don’t really have one, at least never really thought too much about it. But if I had to pick 3 things on my bucket list they would be 1 – to have a book published, 2 – take the kids to America and 3 – take my hubby to Italy.
5. What is one thing you cannot live without?
Sorry but I just can’t think of one – they are all even in my life – my phone, my wine and my coffee.
6. What is your favourite Australian travel destination?
Byron Bay – we have been a few times and I love everything about it. The beaches, the shopping, the beautiful walks, the pubs, the people and as I am always with my family – the company.
7. What two countries make you the happiest to visit?
First one has to be Bali as this is a location my family have visited recently and we love it. The people are just beautiful, the weather is always warm just like ground hog day, the shopping has something for everyone, the food is delicious and it is affordable for someone with 4 kids.
I lived in London for a couple of years pre kids and loved it. I would love to go back and show my children all the things I got up to many years ago when I had a
8. What’s your favourite and least favourite word?
hmmmm favourite – wine least favourite – c*nt
9. If you found out that due to a mix up at the hospital one of your kids wasn’t yours, would you give it back?
Who makes up these questions?? I would want both kids but that would probably not be fair to the other mum. If I am honest, I would keep the child that knows me as in my mind and the child’s mind, we are meant to be together. I would start a relationship with my biological child but think it would be better for them to stay in the security they know.
Now it’s my turn to share in the love by nominating a few bloggers that I would love to read about.
